My Creamy Tahini Dressing is a staple in our household, not only for the health benefits of sesame seeds (they’re a great dairy-free source of calcium amongst other perks), but also because it’s texture truly satisfies those cravings for a creamy sauce sans dairy or thickeners.
Feel free to use more or less water to change up the consistency if you like, its super versatile. You could also add in some fresh chopped parsley or rosemary, or a minced garlic clove or finely diced green onion/chives for varying flavor.
My favorite way to enjoy this Creamy Tahini Dressing is on my Veggie-Loaded Sweet Potato Toast. If you haven’t tried that combo yet, get on it quick-smart!

- 1/4 cup tahini
- 1/4 cup filtered water*
- 2 TBL fresh lemon juice
- 1/2 tsp cumin powder
- sea salt and pepper, to taste
- Combine all ingredients in a small bowl and whisk to combine.
- Store any leftovers in a sealed jar in the fridge up to 4 days.
*Use cool or cold water here, warm water won't combine, and you'll be left with a lumpy mess. (As always, I test things every which-way for you, so I know from experience!)
